Website Disclaimer & Terms of Use
1. Informational Purposes Only
The content on this website is for general informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute medical advice, psychological diagnosis, or a substitute for a professional clinical consultation.
2. No Professional-Client Relationship
Browsing this website, reading articles, or submitting an enquiry through the contact form does not establish a therapist-client relationship. A formal professional relationship is only formed once we have both signed a specific Counselling Agreement and completed an initial assessment session.
3. Emergency and Crisis Services
This website and its contact forms are not monitored 24/7 and are not equipped to handle psychiatric emergencies. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, feeling unsafe, or requiring urgent medical attention, please use the following free, immediate support services:
  • Emergency Services: Call 999 (UK) or go to your nearest A&E.
  • NHS Mental Health Services: Call 111 (UK).
  • The Samaritans: Call 116 123 (UK) or email jo@samaritans.org.
  • Childline (under 19s): Call 0800 1111.
4. Professional Standards & BACP Membership
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I strictly adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions across all delivery methods—including in-person, telephone, and online therapy.
5. Service Boundaries & Technological Risks
  • Online & Telephone Therapy: While remote therapy offers flexibility, it requires a stable internet or phone connection and a secure, private space at your location. Remote sessions are subject to technical limitations, power outages, or software failures outside of my control.
  • In-Person Therapy: Attendance at physical sessions is subject to agreed health, safety, and cancellation policies outlined in our primary Counselling Agreement.
  • Geographical Limits: Due to international licensing laws and professional insurance regulations, online and telephone services are strictly limited to clients physically located within the United Kingdom at the time of the session.
6. Privacy and Data Security
Any personal data or sensitive information submitted through this website is processed in strict compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Please review the full Privacy Policy [Link to your privacy policy page] to understand how your data is collected, stored, and protected.
7. Complaints and Feedback
I am committed to providing a safe, professional, and ethical service. If you have any concerns, feedback, or a complaint about the website or the service you have received, please follow these steps:
  • Initial Discussion: I encourage you to raise any concerns directly with me in the first instance so we can discuss and resolve them openly.
  • Formal Escalation: If we cannot resolve the issue directly, or if you feel unable to discuss it with me, you have the right to raise a formal complaint with my professional regulatory body, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
  • BACP Contact: You can view their professional conduct procedure or submit a complaint form directly via the BACP website.
